A foreword from the President of DVF
Dear Dr. Nemitz,
with great joy I was informed in late summer 2002 that on the remote island of Tenerife some enthusiastic German photographers got together to establish their own photo club.
I myself and the total organisation of DVF were very pleased to receive the information that this Club with its well sounding name "Foto-Club Amigos Costa del Silencio - Teneriffa" will unite with the German DVF - Association of photography.
At the official reunion of the DVF in Leverkusen on the 26 of October 2002, I announced it officially and welcomed the "Foto-Club Amigos Costa del Silencio - Teneriffa" and its members heartily to the organisation of DVF - many hundreds of participants greeted this information with a big applause.
Your Club was also made welcome to the DVF-journal - now all the members of the DVF should be informed that you exist - this is in the meantime well known over and above our own association of the DVF.
With great interest I read your letter and saw the presentation of your project which I was pleased to get in the course of January.
For my part I see you are trying to achieve great aims and I hope you will grasp the significance for your intentions and I can assure you that all assistance from the DVF will be given to help you in your endeavours.
I am pleased that by means of the "Foto-Club Amigos Costa del Silencio - Teneriffa" the traditional good relationship to our Spanish photographers can be further deepened and we can also achieve our aims of the FIAP. The Spanish photographers and their photography play and have always played a well considered role in the world organisation of the FIAP.
In the future our DVF members like you and members of the "Foto-Club Amigos Costa del Silencio - Teneriffa" could assist us to pass the barrier of language so as to enable us to confirm and to expand the contact between the DVF and the Spanish photographers.
I wish you, dear Dr. Nemitz, and all the members of your Club a lot of pleasure in your photography and many photographic success.
Hearty greetings and good light,
Yours Georg S. Holzmann
DVF - President
